Scripture for the Day Oct 14th 2020: The Great Tribulation and the Mark of the Beast Part 1
2 Thessalonians 2:1 - 2:12
Over the next several weeks, every Wednesday, I will prove beyond a reasonable doubt that the 'rapture' of the church is a post-tribulation event and that the Covid-19 vaccine is not the Mark of the Beast.
Faced with false teachings, I have left many churches because of their good-feel preachings and pocket-draining prosperity gospels. Mega churches are, perhaps except for one, guilty of misleading their flocks. May God have mercy on their souls!
I will tag each devotional in this Post Tribulation Proof Series with #TheGreatTribulation and #PostTribulation.
This is an exegetical exposition of the issue, a verse by verse analysis, looking at 2 Thessalonians 2:1-2:12, Matthew 24 and Revelation 12, among others. So we are going to move slowly.
Have your bible handy and follow me through the word of God and make sure you prepare yourself and your loved ones for that which is to come.
Let's start with verse 1 in 2 Thessalonians 2.
1 Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and [by] our gathering together unto him,
This is the second letter to the church of Thessalonica. Paul wrote this letter because after his visit and first letter to that church, false teachers perverted the teaching about the great tribulation, the second coming of Christ, and the rapture of the church just as they do today. The first verse sets the stage: the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together unto Him.
The word "beseech", from the Greek ἐρωτάω. means "to request" in the secular context. However, in the divine, it means "to command." It's more than a request. It's begging the reader of the Epistle to heed the command of the Spirit of God to pay close attention to that which follows.
Why then are preachers not guiding their congregations accordingly? We find the answer in 2 Peter 2:1
2 Peter 2:1
“But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.”
Therefore, I beseech you to follow this series in the weeks to come and walk in the truth of God, so you won't fall victim to the lies and the evil that will leave you unprepared.
May Jesus bless you and your family as you read God's word and understand His will.
Amen
