Scripture for the Day Nov 20th 2020: A Root of Evil
Before the Lord saved me, I registered a web domain referring to the roots of evil. Back then, I hadn't read the Bible and because of that, I didn't have any understanding. The website never launched. But the LORD had planted the seed in me to become a Christian, seeds carefully sown throughout my life so that even a rebellious soul such as mine would eventually yield to God.
Turns out, the LORD tells us throughout the Bible in plain language what our follies are.
1 Timothy 6:10 Expanded Bible
10 [For] The love of money ·causes [is the root of] all kinds of evil. Some people have ·left [strayed/wandered from] the faith, because they wanted ·to get more money [it], ·but they have caused themselves much sorrow [and have pierced themselves with many pains].
OUCH. We pierce ourselves with many pains? They pierced Jesus for our transgressions. God, through Isaiah, told us some 500 years before the event!
Isaiah 53:5 NASB
But He was pierced through for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; The chastening for our well-being fell upon Him, And by His scourging we are healed.
- Corrupt Joe Biden and his wife have sold the office of Vice President of the United States for money from America's enemies.
- Corrupt election officials all over the country have accepted money from DOMINION voting systems to install certain hardware and software to enable Venezuelan-style election fraud; European-style, as well. No one can tell me that all of Europe is so dumb as to elect tax hawks and communists year after year.
God so gently reminds us that the love of money is a bad thing.
Hebrews 13:5 NASB
Make sure that your character is free from the love of money, being content with what you have; for He Himself has said, “I will never desert you, nor will I ever forsake you,”
All our resources, including the money we have, belong to Him. We are merely stewards of His creation. We possess nothing because we can't take anything with us, either to Heaven or to H E L L. God will take care of us. We don't need to chase money and riches, because God supplied us with all worthy riches. And He will never leave us nor forsake us.
Deuteronomy 31:6 Expanded Bible
6 Be strong and ·brave [courageous; Josh. 1:6–9]. Don’t be afraid of them and don’t be frightened, because the Lord your God will go with you. He will not ·leave [fail] you or ·forget [abandon; forsake] you.”
So, trust God to replenish what you give to help those who need help. Trust God in everything, and STOP WORRYING.
Matthew 6:25 Expanded Bible
25 “So I tell you, don’t worry about the food or drink you need to live, or about the clothes you need for your body. Life is more than food, and the body is more than clothes.
Don't we know that God knows our heart and that our Heavenly FATHER takes care of us? Therefore, practice charity (love=giving selflessly).
