Scripture for the Day Nov 28th 2020: The Real Christian is Not Lukewarm
Oh, how I despise lukewarm people. RINOs for one. But even more so people who claim to be Christian but have no passion for Christ. But LP, wait a minute! You despise Christians? No, because just as RINOs are Republicans in name only, lukewarm churchgoers are Christians in name only: CINOs. If they did their homework and read the Bible and lived by it, the world would be a better place. If Christians had stood their ground when it mattered, we wouldn't have banned the Bible and prayer from schools and public life. We wouldn't have accepted the murder of babies as some warped view of healthcare. And we surely wouldn't have bowed to the ridiculous demands for political correctness, which comes
from the pit of h e l l.
I wouldn’t hold this view if it wasn’t Biblical. Here is what Jesus thinks of the lukewarm church:
Revelation 3:16
So because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to vomit you out of My mouth!
You see, I don't have an opinion. You can have as many as you want, and I don't care. I'd still be sensible to you as a person, but I won't argue flimsiness. Opinions are based on current events, feelings, experiences. I care for POSITIONS. My positions are Bible-based and therefore steadfast and defendable. Because of that, I will take a stance that doesn't change, a position that is not subject to emotions and their volatility. That doesn't mean I won't change my view on something when new data comes in. Example: I am no longer watching Tucker Carlson because in my view, he betrayed the MAGA cause by questioning Sidney Powell's evidence without cause. Everybody knows Sidney got the goods. If Tucker were to explain his battering of Sidney Powell, I might change my mind. But until then, he's off my viewing list.
Hebrews 13:8 King James Version
8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.
Standing steadfast on a biblical position also means I cannot be manipulated by the enemy. Not by the neighbor next door, a friend, the MSMS, or by current events. This gives me PEACE and direction. It makes me dependable. People know what to expect from me if they understand the Bible. If not, I am just an enigma to them. That's ok, too. I like to puzzle the enemy.
There is another big-plus to being on fire for Jesus: the power of prayer asked in UNWAVERING faith.
James 1:6 (KJV)
But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.
7 For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.
8 A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.
Add to the equation that without faith, we cannot please God.
Hebrews 11:6
“But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.”
I love to read (and watch) Lester Sumrall. This guy drove out demons, and when he saw hunger and sickness befalling people around the world, Lester bought a C-130 and a Cargo Ship to bring relief to millions of people. He wrote The Militant Church, Warfare Strategies for Today's Christians. It's available for free here, as most of his books are. We must accept the reality of Spiritual Warfare and engage there first before thinking about the conventional battle. And if you claim to be a Christian and don't believe in Spiritual Warfare, check Ephesians 6:10-19 again.
Do you still have opinions?
Let's bow our hearts and pray.
LORD, let us
6 Not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but as the servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart;
7 With good will doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men:
8 Knowing that whatsoever good thing any man doeth, the same shall he receive of the Lord, whether he be bond or free.
9 And, ye masters, do the same things unto them, forbearing threatening: knowing that your Master also is in heaven; neither is there respect of persons with him.
10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
19 And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel.
Therefore, let our yes be yes, and our No be No. Everything else comes from the evil one.
In Jesus' name.
Amen
