Scripture for the Day Dec 17th 2020: The Trinity Speaking Among Themselves: Can You Discern Who Is Who?

Psalms 2 is a remarkable example of Scripture because, in it, we observe the Trinity, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit having an executive meeting, discussing the folly of men. This is the Old Testament, mind you. There are other examples where the Father, Jesus, or the Holy Spirit speak. But to the best of my knowledge, this is the only Scripture where we witness an actual meeting of the Godhead. It is exciting!

The Exec Meeting

Let's look at Psalms 2. Read it a few times, if you will:

Psalms 2 (NASB)

1 Why are the nations restless And the peoples plotting in vain?
2 The kings of the earth take their stand And the rulers conspire together Against the Lord and against His Anointed, saying,
3 “Let’s tear their shackles apart And throw their ropes away from us!”

4 He who sits in the heavens laughs, The Lord scoffs at them.
5 Then He will speak to them in His anger And terrify them in His fury, saying,
6 “But as for Me, I have installed My King Upon Zion, My holy mountain.”

7 “I will announce the decree of the Lord: He said to Me, ‘You are My Son, Today I have fathered You.
8 Ask it of Me, and I will certainly give the nations as Your inheritance, And the ends of the earth as Your possession.
9 You shall break them with a rod of iron, You shall shatter them like earthenware.’”

10 Now then, you kings, use insight; Let yourselves be instructed, you judges of the earth.
11 Serve the Lord with reverence And rejoice with trembling.
12 Kiss the Son, that He not be angry and you perish on the way, For His wrath may be kindled quickly. How blessed are all who take refuge in Him!

The Puzzle

Wow, what a Psalm! Whenever God speaks directly, I get excited. The Book of Job is a treasure of God, the Father, talking Satan, and in the last chapters, to Job. Especially when God speaks to Job, challenging him, I am in awe. (See this Devotional with details.)

But let's stick with Psalms to for today.

Have you been able to make out Who is speaking to Whom here? Let's do this: I divided the Psalm into three sections, each is another person speaking, either the Father, Jesus, or the Holy Spirit.  I give you a hint: Section 1 and 4 are spoken by the same Person. Leave me your take in the comments.

God bless you all!

In Jesus' name
Amen

    • Fun LP! ? I’ll come back to this in my leisure time and  see what I come to. In the interim my best guesses are; 1-3 The Holy Spirit

4-6 Jesus The Son of God

7-9 The Lord God, the Father

      10-12 The Holy Spirit

      Thanks ?

BIDEN’S FOLLYTHE LAW OF UNINTENDED CONSEQUENCESWhat it Means to Eliminate the Oil Industry Among Other ThingsBy E.P. Unum I wrote this essay back in the summer of 2020. Now that Joe Biden is President, it bears repeating because much of what feared has, sadly, already taken place. Many Democrats and Liberals like to shout and scream about how we all need to become more climate-conscious. They like to march down streets and wave their placards and makeshift flags about the need to eliminate fracking and do away with fossil fuels. Make no mistake, the self-anointed leader of the Democratic Party, Joe Biden promised during his Presidential campaign that he would not "do away with fracking or oi
